it was the worst administration in our history as far as how lax they were with chemical levels in the water. Several different times they loosened up regulations. IMO to help out their big business friends.

Reads to me like the setbacks are recent after a long period of gains.
Levels of some toxins have dropped, although the rate of decline has slowed and new chemicals have turned up, the commission said. Algae blooms were reduced dramatically, only to stage a frustrating comeback in recent years.
