Two years ago, while on the trail between Siskiwit and Island Mine, my hiking partners and I discussed how we should contact Google and map out Isle Royale with Google Maps' "Street View" equipment. We thought it'd be a cool idea, and a good reason to get out to IR.

Well, now apparently, we can...Google now allows "third party organizations" to map the globe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuiEmxD ... r_embedded

So what do you say? Our "third party organization" could be the "Isle Royale Forums" and we could get a few hikers together to do different parts of the Island...

I think that would be pretty slick. Wonder if NPS would have any issues. Prob not.

How cool would it be with the new "iFit" and Google Map integration, if you could spend your winters on the treadmill, hiking your favorite Isle Royale trails. A whole new training program!
