Has anyone had any success fly fishing on the island? either inland, or coastal? Any suggestions on patterns that worked?

I have flyfished for pike on both Superior and inland lakes. #8 or 9 9' flyrod with WF line. A good drag is helpful on the reel and backing. I use a steel leader or bonefish type leader when I can find them. Yellow and red or red white big (3-4") streamer type flies. Dahlberg divers if you can find them. I do this out of a kayak, absolute blast!!!
I have been told by my friends they have just as much fun, watching me!!!

I would like to try a flyrod for lakers in the Spring.

I leave the coasters alone as they are endangered.

I am intrested in this also... we will be down on Big Siskiwit this June, supposedly the steelhead run up it at some point in June. Is there a population of rainbow or brook (catch and release only) in this river? We will probably try regardless but if anyone has had some success that would be a better starting point!

Lucky, I've seen steelhead going up at the beginning of May.
