What are some of the best books for planning a trip to isle royale? I am planning a trip for summer of 2017 and want to do lots of research to ensure a fun trip.

Thanks

Most use this, available on the IRKPA site:

I'll give a shout out to the E book by Mike Tremblay. Very good info. Can check it out here... http://www.isleroyale.info

I found Jim DuFresne's guidebook useful. Can't speak on any other books about IR as I haven't read any of them.

I have a lot of books etc on isle royale and find Mike Trembley's on line resources the most complete. Lots of info on the campsites etc.

The Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association website, that is linked in johnhens post, has plenty of related reading material to fill a home library.

Besides just the guidebook, there is a package of "guidebook, map, & checklist" that is a good deal.

I believe they give 10% discount if you become a member of their association first.

Some of the publications available to purchase through the association, might be at your local library.

I forgot to mention the parks newsletter as a great planning resource.

I use both Mike's site, chock full of info, the book and the NG/TI map for planning.
