September Windigo Botany Workshop

Post by Keweenaw »

Hi all,

Well, the June Botany workshop out of Rock Harbor wrapped up a week ago and was a great success, with all participants having a grand time!

Openings are still available in the September botany workshop in the Windigo area. This will be the 12th botany workshop to be held on the Island (10 at Rock Harbor; this will be #2 at Windigo). Most participants come from Grand Portage on the Voyageur II on Sept 7 (return Sept 11). If it's closer to leave from Michigan, you can always hop aboard the 35 minute sea plane flight from Houghton --info at http://www.isleroyaleseaplanes.com Other options from MI are the Ranger III from Houghton or the Isle Royale Queen IV from Copper Harbor. These boats will drop you off at Rock Harbor and then you can catch the Voyageur II down to Windigo, depending on schedules - be sure to check.

There was also an interview done by WTIP-FM of Grand Marais, MN about the previous Fall workshop. You can listen to it at www.wtip.org/isle-royale-workshops
