Good afternoon...hopefully somebody can guide me a little on this, I am heading to the island in September for backpacking and going to fish as well, but I am trying to be weight conscious and I am struggling to figure out what to carry my lures in. Any ideas as to what works best? Want to bring an assortment of Mepps, Spoons and spinners.

Thank you.

I use a small plastic box similar to this http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/p ... 3&i=400709.

I use a plano box. Same thing, different brand name. Get a small one and figure out what will fit instead of getting a bigger one and figuring out what will fill it.

Similar to others, I use this when backpacking: http://www.basspro.com/Plano-StowAway-U ... duct/1556/
If you are keeping your weight down, I would bring 3 lures: #4 Mepps gold blade with squirrel tail dressing, a 5/8 oz five of diamonds daredevil, and a floating perch jointed rapala #9. Don't forget to pinch your barbs. I have replaced a number of treble hooks with a single hook. Also a steel leader is a plus, and forceps or the like to remove a hook. Have fun, let us know how you did!!!

Thank you all, the plano box was going to be what I was thinking, but just wanted to see what others might use. Thanks again.

A rubber band is always wrapped around my box. Inadvertent opening while in pack just once will lead a person to a full days worth of fabric surgery and to take future precautions.

I like this small, double sided waterproof box by Plano. http://t.dickssportinggoods.com/product ... oCvxbw_wcB. Because it is double sided, it takes up less space.

Nice box. I live close to the Plano Outlet store, will have to swing by and see if they have it.
