I'm embarrased to ask since I've stayed once (group site) and lunched there on another trip, but I can't remember. Are there any tent sites at Daisy, besides the group sites?

I think there are 6 individual sites.

If the weather is good the tent sites are probably okay. Years ago, when a storm hit and rained for almost 48 hours the tent sites that were near the hills had water running thru them. I put my tent up inside a shelter for warmth and went walking around in the rain when I got bored. Glad I had a shelter (and some books to read) and didn't have to put my tent up on a tent site during those two days.

The tent sites at Daisy are not very good. The first two, on the west side are right next to the pavilion and close to one and other. The other 4 are on the far east side and are also close to one and other. I would always choose a shelter over any one of the tent sites here.

My understanding is that a beaver dam now exists and has flooded some of Daisy. Does that affect the tent sites?

I'll take a shelter if I have to, but hoping I can find suitable trees for a hammock which will give me a much more restful sleep...also hopefully won't have too much competition for sites on Memorial Day..

For a hammock tent sites #2 & 3 are perfect. There are nice solid trees and they are right next to the pavilion so, if it is raining, it will give you a dry place to sit.
