I don't know why it took me so long to write this. I was working on it as a magazine article but decided to do it as a blog as well so I can be a bit more expansive. Enjoy.

Awesome visit and post! Thanks! (Confession: I'd originally coded "runcation" as a (ahem) truncation of "truncation," and expected a tale of an aborted ferry trip ....)

Thanks for the report Kevin. It seems there's always one more method surface that people choose to experience The Island.

One point of curiosity. Did Jason mention specifically what was in the tea? Did you try it?

Also, bushwacking between the Minong and the Greenstone has come up here again recently. Do you have any details as to where you were?

Thanks guys.

Midwest Ed, I did drink the tea and I'm still tripping. Just kidding. I have no idea what he put in there, although I often use him when I'm in the woods, sending him pictures of plants and asking if they're safe to eat (after tasting something last week, I was gently reprimanded). When we jumped from ridge to ridge, we weren't too far out of Windigo. Here is the link to our route that day: https://www.strava.com/activities/577584779 .

Realizing now that we most likely can't reproduce Jason's tea, I guess it's a moot point to ask how it tasted.

The Feldtmann loop in a day is mind boggling to me. LOL

Thanks for posting. You're seeing a lot of the island in that short trip. It would take me 3, maybe more trips to cover that kind of ground.
