Early this morning Pacific time I was on the site MarineTraffic Global Ship Tracker and it showed the Ranger heading SW by Mott in Rock Harbor. Anybody know why?

Even though the first public ferry date this year for the Ranger is May 29th, it begins making several trips as soon as possible after the park officially opens in mid April. On most of these trips it overnights at Mott Island, essentially stocking up the headquarters with gear and supplies. Even during regular trips it enters/exits the Rock Harbor channel by Daisy Farm and often makes a stop at Mott Island on the way to/from Snug Harbor (Rock Harbor)

Roger that, but I thought Ranger leaves on Tuesday/Fridays from Houghton and returns on Wednesday/Saturday. So why would it be leaving IR on a Friday early in morning

Since it's not carrying passengers yet, it's on its own schedule delivery supplies. It's been to Windigo at least once, not sure if it goes there again this spring.
