I'm jealous of his "no easy feat to trek three miles" (from Rock Harbor to Three Mile I assume) since his "pack weighed around 65 pounds". On my first trek on Isle Royale my pack weighed 80 pounds. 
I realize that 65 pounds is heavy by today's standards which undoubtedly was to accommodate his photographic equipment.
