Hi! I'm planning a backpacking trip, tentatively for June. But I'm wondering if there are any quick ways across Tobin Harbor if, for instance, I wanted to start my trek from Hidden Lake or Moose Point rather than the Rock Harbor Trail & peninsula. Are there any complementary canoes or kayaks for back-and-forths like this, like I've seen in some other parks? Or are any kind folks with personal crafts who barter for beer or cash?

There's a few options:
(a) Take the "water bus", which is the lodge's tour boat, one-way. See here for the schedule, rates at the bottom:

(b) Take the "water taxi", which you must reserve, but you schedule the day and time.

(c) Rent a canoe or boat, IF you have a someone who will paddle/drive it back for you. If you stay at the lodge, they include a half-day canoe rental with the room.

Most folks do either (a) since it's cheapest, or (b) because it's most convenient. 2021 rates could be little more, but they typically do not change much year to year. The tour schedule rarely changes, but with Covid, I think all bets are off as to whether they'll offer all services, even if the lodge itself is operating. So make sure you have a backup plan--a good idea any year.
It's always possible that someone with a boat would befriend you, but don't think that happens much. Legally they can not accept any compensation (technically, even a beer) without a USCG captain's license and an NPS license to do business in the park.

Thanks very much! Sounds like this is definitely the way to go!

Hopefully it will be operating this year. And just noticed you said June--too early in June could be an issue in a normal year, as the lodge is just getting into full swing around then. Be sure to contact them and verify when your trip gets closer.
