Just returned from my 15 day Volunteer in Park Photography trip. I can not say enough about the NPS Rangers and volunteers that helped make this trip a success and an adventure that exceeded my expectations tenfold. From being transported around island on Ranger vessels to spots where I basecamped for a couple of days to being put up in Ranger housing where available to recharge all my cameras and myself (showers,beds ) along with other VIP's who also assisted me when ever asked.. From moose to beavers, wildflowers galore, bald eagles, loons mergansers, even the rarely seen Cape May Warbler not too mention the Milky Way and landscapes and folks Isle Royaling. the only better trip I had was my first way back in 1963.The image was taken directly into sun so not as good as I would like but I thought cool looking.

Hooray, chief! I'd just been wondering whether you were back. I applaud the coinage of the verb "isle royaling"---and hope you'll post more pictures!

Chief, that backlit scene could almost pass for a poorly done photoshop job, LOL. It DOES look cool though.

I assume you'll keep us posted as to where you will publishing your works and maybe sneak us a peek or two.

I can personally attest to the totally unforgettable experience on Amygdaloid Island my ranger friend afforded me after two weeks of Mountain House, as I was able to sleep in a feather bed after a supper of oven baked buttered Lake Trout. Best meal I've ever had, whether Isle Royaling or not.
