I am wondering what people would like to run for campsites on the inland lakes that do not allow fire. I do not have the equipment to fry fish on my jet boil, at least I don't think so.
I could see a pan and lid with maybe a diffuser and ...
Help me out. Thoughts?

I use a frying pan with my MSR Microrocket, which is probably as focused as the Jetboil. You just have to continuously move the pan as it's cooking--I get comfortable and slowly make circles above the flame. I just cook it in butter, with salt and pepper. The same technique works for pancakes, too
(um, without the salt and pepper...)

The decision to fish adds a bit of gear. For us that means a fishing pole each, lures, net, filet knife, fry pan, spatula, and breading. If we weren't paddling, the extra weight wouldn't be worth it for us.

Secret is to keep the fry pan moving over a stove (don’t use hot oil … butter and onions instead. Done it with pocket rocket. Not easy but it works. Or just catch and release on days you can’t have a fire

i recommend a diffuser. Very light weight and eliminates hot spots. I got mine several years back at Packit Gourmet.

Thanks, can't get the idea of fresh IR fish cooking in butter and onions out of my head. May have to go perch fishing. Again, thanks.
