Great Lakes NPS songbird survey

Each year Songbird surveys are down at the National Parks. This is the results for the Great Lakes area.

I haven't read this yet, but anecdotally, here in Indiana we were instructed to take down all of our feeders this summer due to a mysterious illness causing deaths in songbirds. My understanding is that this was happening across the midwest and on the east coast.

States affected included VA, WV, NJ, PA, DE, KT, TN, IN and OH. Folks were told to take down their feeders during the summer months. Most of the states were telling folks in the fall that it was ok to put feeders back up. IL (except for one part along the IN border) managed to escape the issue. I don't recall a specific cause for the illness.
