So there are three of us arriving at Rock Harbor from Grand Portage around 3pm on June 3rd. What is the fastest way to get to Daisy Farm Campground? Do you think it will be possible to secure a shelter for the night?

The Tobin Harbor trail is the easier route vs the Rock Harbor trail, especially with full packs. That time of year a shelter at Daisy Farm is possible, but never guaranteed, of course. Remember you will have to do orientation and registration when you get off the boat, so probably 1/2 hr or so before you hit the trail.

You could also consider taking the water taxi.
