Hello! I have heard lots of talk about the Durston X Mid tents. I’m looking into buying a new tent and this is one I’m considering. Does anyone have opinions about getting the dyneema fabric tent or the polysil tent? I know the dyneema is lighter, which is a plus, but is condensation a big issue? Thanks!

Hi, I bought an X-Mid 2 silpoly but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Any single wall tent will have issues with condensation. My last shelters have been TarpTent single-walls and condensation has always been my biggest complaint. The benefit to both silpoly and dyneema is that they won't "wet out" like silnylon. If I were going to spend $700+ on the dyneema tent I'd get the 2P just so there's less risk of touching the wet sides.

Thank you! I’ll check out the 2 person as an option.

I have about 21 nights in my X Mid Pro 2 on Isle Royale, Manistee River Trail, and Glacier National Park all in summer and fall. I have not yet experienced any condensation.

Thanks for this information. I’m feeling pretty good about the tent.
