There was a post on the Reddit sub about violent screaming at south desor. Link below. Assuming these are related.
I can't find the link, but my impression it was more of a firing of an unruly employee that crossed some kind of line. This was the NPS version of being escorted out of the building by security.dcclark wrote: Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:07 am A bit of a separate issue, but this article mentions that "a spokesperson said the deaths are not connected to an apparent arrest that was captured on video last week by U.P. Adventure Company." I hadn't heard anything about that.

I guess it must be this, although I can hardly tell what the video is showing:

I agree, makes sense. What do they say? There are no coincidences.Ingo wrote: Tue Jun 10, 2025 9:55 am The OP on reddit said this morning that they've been contacted by the FBI, implying they are connected.
The redblackrider group left Friday night; the rangers left Sunday night. No possibility of crossing paths.Midwest Ed wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 4:47 am I wonder if the redblackrider group, that left South Desor at 11pm to hike the 11 miles to Windigo, came across the 2 rangers in the dark that hiked 11 miles from "somewhere" to the probable crime scene, arriving before dawn.
Good point. That's 11 miles as well.
I wasn't paying enough attention to the dates. I hereby forfeit my amatuer wilderness detective badge.IncaRoads wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 7:33 amThe redblackrider group left Friday night; the rangers left Sunday night. Possibly, when I was in Malone in May they had someone out there getting things started up. I assume they were getting the housing ready but IDK. I think the visitor center is usually open & staffed about now based on old log book entries.Midwest Ed wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 3:02 pmGood point. That's 11 miles as well.
Although I ask... Would there be a pair of Rangers already at Malone?
