Wow, glad she was able to get to land. This could have turned out differently. Good lessons here!!
VHF is a good thing to have if paddling the Great Lakes.
I assume she had no tent?
She sounds like an esperienced paddler.

Good thing for her that she was actually close enough to make it to land for shelter.
