A friend and I returned last week from a 78+ mile hike on Isle Royale. We were hiking segments of trails scattered around the island that we hadn't hiked before. Due to rough weather, we enjoyed an unexpected extra day on the island. I've posted a trip report here:

Thanks Kip...I've enjoyed your previous trip reports on other websites about IR as well...especially about the scout trip.

In my official capacity as Trip Reports moderator, I hereby grant you a Gold Star. :P

AMAZING Trip Report. Many beginners could learn much from what you have written.
I too did the "East Chickenbone" leg this June, since I hadn't gotten around to it in any of my trips... So, check that one off the list. I did make a point to take photos of the East Chickenbone campsite, so the next time someone asks, "It's really not THAT bad, is it?" I'll have photographic proof...

I thank you very much Sir! Over the past couple of decades I've spent many days/weeks on the great island of Isle Royale. It was only recently that I found this site. Through trip reports, I can hopefully help someone else enjoy the splendor of the park. Thanks again -
