MI to sue to close lock to keep carp out of Lake MI

While officials are considering closing the lock to prevent asian carp spread inot Lake MI, MI may file suit to force closure of the Lock to prevent the spread of carp into MI.

Again, I think its about time. This should have been the solution from the start, that way Illinois would not have wasted tax dollars on a system that they thought would work. Chose the locks, it really makes sense. It may cause some problems initially for people used to using the channal, but they'll have to figure something else out.

If they were to completely close the locks, wouldn't that reverse the flow of the Chicago river back into Lake Michigan? That could do more harm than the carp.

Michigan files suit in the US Supreme Court against the Sate Of IL, THe ARMY Corp of Engineers and The Water Reclamation District to close the lock connecting the Sanitary Ship Canal with the Lake to prevent carp from entering Lake Michigan.
