Re: TR: 08.14 - 08.22 RH to points beyond
Mike says the lakers were caught between 25-40' in 30-80' of water. They used a deep six and a double deep six diver with a j-plug (blue and silver and wonderbread). It only took 2 hours of trolling to supper.

Re: TR: 08.14 - 08.22 RH to points beyond
Fish: thanks to advice from a person at Rock Harbor we learned that the fish were quite shallow due to the gale action the week before and very active. We didn't have to worry about trying to get deep with out downriggers. We caught three very nice size lakers at McCargo Cove area. We ate two and ...

Re: Boater/backpacker relations
Intersesting thread given that I choose explore ISRO by boat and ironic because I have eight Boundary Waters Wilderness Area trips under my belt.

Re: Requesting fishing Lake Superior advice
Thanks Don. I'm positive I can't talk hubs out of trying but hey it's the journey not the destination. He once saw a 'log' move move in McCargoe Cove and has never forgetten that pike. Said it was longer than he was tall. (Uh, ok dear.) In any case fishing for nortens is fun!

Re: Wanting campsite/dockage availablity information
Keeweenaw - Thanks for the additional information. Tents are already on the list. Great suggestion about pulling up on shore. I'll make sure we have a longer hank of rope along.

Requesting fishing Lake Superior advice
I'm having a really hard time finding information about fishing the Lady herself. We'll be boating and would like to do some trolling. Hubby did plenty of that when we worked there but it was by the small boats that RHL rents and early in the summer when the trout weren't deep. He has the reefs ...

Re: Wanting campsite/dockage availablity information
Uh, whoa. How far away were you the previous night? Getting from say Tookers Island to Chippewa Harbor by 8 AM would be quite a push. It's 19 miles! Off the top of my head I don't know how early we'd have to leave because I'm not sure how fast our boat goes. I'll have to ask hubby. Add ...

Re: Wanting campsite/dockage availablity information
John,
Forgot to say that yes we have both GPS and VHF.
We've been plugging along gathering info. Mike just marked up the chart with the no wake zones since we're unsure if they are marked with bouys. We're also aware of the NA campgrounds and we've got the table of campground info. I've been ...

Re: Obscured registration code too obscured.
Thanks for bringing this up. It took me several tries as well last week. I was about to call my daughter in when I finally got it. I just figured it was my 'old' eyes as well.
