Star Rating System

Got to say I’m not a fan. The star system dirties up the forum board and does not seem to give a practical rating to the thread in question as the ratings all seem to same on almost every thread. Does anyone else feel the same way about the rating system. In my opinion, I think it should be d ...

Re: 5/19-5/29 2023 [Hiking]

Cool Jerry. If I do the Feldtmann loop, I might bump into you if you do it counterclockwise. Otherwise, there is always a chance I see you at Hugginin Cove if you are doing that at the tail end of your trip. Either way, whether we cross paths or not, I hope you have a wonderful trip Great. We will ...

Cool omarkoup. I probably won’t cross paths with you guys, but I hope you have a fun trip. More importantly, I hope you have good weather so there are no delays with the seaplane.

Re: Crazy Idea to Circumnavigate the Island?

Did you ever reach any conclusions on what your are going to do Ed? I think it is amazing what you are doing especially if this might be your last trip. I did a 30 day paddle trip in 2019 and boy was it pretty fun.

5/19-5/29 2023 [Hiking]

Hey guys, it’s been a while. I’m sad to see the forum seems to have less activity on it nowadays. I remember when this place was booming with new threads and posts. I wonder where most people are getting their information from if not here. Anyways, I’m going for a 10 day hike. It’s been quite a while ...

Re: Stove canisters and weight

Im bringing five 16oz canisters with me on my next trip in a week. You can never have too much fuel right? Hahaha. Did I forget to mention that I am taking a month long trip and take a hot shower every day? ;) Im also kayaking so weight isn't as much of an issues like it is for a hiker. moderator ...

I am going to the island for a month to do tons of kayaking. Provided that I don’t drown you should get a report from me around August 20th.

Wet Suit Advice

Which one would you recommend getting if any of them? The first one is 2mm so I don’t even think that is an option. I’m curious about the other 2. Re: Circumnavigate Kayak Questions

Treeplanter you are right about the differences in shorelines on Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan is definitely more sandy which means I have to be extra careful with planning so I don’t find myself being pummeled against the rock face of a cliff.
