We have massive flooding issues in thumb/lower Michigan. I was just wondering about the lake levels this year around the island.

We have been to Island Mine in the spring and fall and had no problem with water either time.

Mike and I don't use wetsuits when canoeing, we usually go the first and last boat, we are very careful to not paddle in undesirable conditions. We use Kayak paddles for our canoe, MUCH easier and we stay drier.

Lane Cove is still one of my very favorite campsites, absolutely worth the hike down and back up! Sunsets are gorgeous!!!

Just another thought is Tyvek. It's lightweight, waterproof and easily compactable. We have replaced our tent ground cloth with it. We also us it as sleeping pad protection while in a shelter and as a protector when we only use a tarp instead of a tent. Very economical if you have a friend in the ...
