Re: Mott Island Webcam
Wonderful and exciting. I am still pushing for a Washington Creek Moose Cam.
The Ranger III in Houghton (can presently be seen during daylight hours) on this Michigan Tech Web Cam. It's on the extreme left, 40% of the way up from the bottom.

That Mott Island cam is very cool. Makes Isle Royale seem just a little closer.

Re: Mott Island Webcam
After watching for awhile after dark, I notice what seems to be a bright blinking light, reflecting on the ice.

Re: Mott Island Webcam
I believe there's a flashing light on the Mott Island dock.

Re: ISRO Webcams
Thanks srparr, I've added this to a static forums page I'm building...located here. I also merged this with our previous webcam thread and renamed the thread.

Re: Isle Royale Webcams
So the Mott Island webcam is still appears to be operational or at least I hope so. Maybe it's just the date in the title that's changing, but a few days ago it went a bit out of focus. Tobin Harbor picture is frozen at 10/19. Appears it takes just one shot per day at about 3 pm ET. I wonder how long it will stay online. Will be interesting to keep an eye on it.

And the solar panel free of snow and ice.johnhens wrote:I will volunteer to spend winter out there to keep the lens clean.
I captured today's image. Let's see if it actually changes tomorrow. Too bad they don't keep or make past images public .

Of course. I will do a selfie every few days so you know I am ok.Midwest Ed wrote:And the solar panel free of snow and ice.johnhens wrote:I will volunteer to spend winter out there to keep the lens clean.

Re: Isle Royale Webcams
I just compared the two images and there's no doubt the Mott Island webcam is still live. Maybe we should start a betting pool on what day it goes dark.Midwest Ed wrote:I captured today's image. Let's see if it actually changes tomorrow.

Re: Isle Royale Webcams
System was down for a couple of days. Now seems to be back up with an updated snapshot albeit 3 days old.
Anyone willing to wager the date it sends it's last picture? I have to believe the Island Winter will eventually win. Intuition and nothing else says a mild winter but lots of snow. I'm going with December 7th, after which the solar charger gives out.
Edit:
Nov 28th and still alive. Picture is still blurry. I thought it was out of focus but looks more like the camera is not stable. We've had more snow in Northern Illinois.
Edit:
Looks like my prediction didn't even come close. December 9th and not a flake of snow on the ground. So far a very strange December indeed.
