Has anyone hiked the Minong trail recently? If so, how are the conditions?

We are headed up on the first of August and plan to hike west to east from Windigo.

Thanks for the feedback. I think we will be changing our itenerary to stay at West Chickenbone based on all of the feedback provided here. It will add a tad to the hiking mileage, but nothing we can't manage.

Anythoughts on Livermore? Or would you expect that we would have enough success on ...

I'm planning a trip up in August with three others. Myself and one other have been up before, but neither of us has fished on the island, just hiked.

I've read all the threads on here related to fishing, and I think I have a pretty good handle on what to use for lures.
