Has anyone hiked the Minong trail recently? If so, how are the conditions?
We are headed up on the first of August and plan to hike west to east from Windigo.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Minong Trail
If you like your trails covered in leaves, moose stopping to stare and walk towards you in the direction of the trail you are headed in, and get thrills out of goshawks diving at your head...then I would say the conditions couldn't be better
This was what is was like in May. I cannot speak of what it has been like as of recently. I know photosean was there in June. However, I am guessing you want something even more recent like within the past week. I'd suggest looking at the trail reports, but I have not seen any new ones posted lately. Keep your eyes peeled for any new trip reports that appear unless someone notices your post and responds to you directly here.

Re: Minong Trail
The same day I "met" the Goshawk family (i.e. they tried to take my head off) I had a pretty large Bull Moose lay down right on the trail for about half an hour... I can also verify the leaves obscuring the trail back in May, but I managed to stay on it with only a couple of occasions where I had to backtrack. It was kind of like staring at one of those pictures til' you see the sailboat image. By now I'd assume they are easier to follow.
