Drove this twice during the past week. All the delays adds about 40 minutes to the drive between Duluth and Grand Portage.

Just back, Aug 15 to 21, Windigo to Rock Harbor, almost no bugs, a few along the swamps out of Todd Harbor but even was able to sit out evenings without bug dope.

It is a nice site and bugs usually are gone by mid August (except last August and then only noticeable after dusk). While it was hot, it was not dry so many of the streams I crossed had running water. We did not go down to the Island Mine campground but a party we meet had camped there and indicated they were able to filter water out of that stream without difficulty.
