Re: Thinking of a Fishing Trip This Time
I've done 4 trips, all around the first or second week of august and the fishing has been amazing for all species that I have targeted....walleye, pike, and we have been lucky enough for salmon (3x)

Re: Inexperienced Individual With Canoe/Kayak Questions
One thing you have to remember is the water is often the calmest early in the morning and late in the evening. I was unaware of this fact. Thank you for throwing this out there. It is definitely something someone should know about in advance. Out of curiousity, what do you mean by early in the ...

Re: Renting Canoes and Kayaks on the Island
Friends rented one 2 years ago and was like $250 for the 5 days we were there, a little pricey if you ask me. I think there is a place that will rent in CH..superior paddling maybe??? I think there are two places in CH one right next to the Queens dock and one next to the general store. I did meet ...

Re: Inexperienced Individual With Canoe/Kayak Questions
If I were planning that trip to those Islands I wouldn't think twice about it, but that means lots of weather planning and the possibility of being stuck out there for a day or two. One thing you have to remember is the water is often the calmest early in the morning and late in the evening. You ...

Re: Inexperienced Individual With Canoe/Kayak Questions
For me: a canoe has been the only way I have seen Isle Royale, you get to hit the places that people can't get to by trail and the fishing is much much better than shore fishing. That being said I am an accomplished canoer with many many miles under my paddle. Often staying close to shore can be ...

Re: May 1st - May 8th 2012 Trip Report
I think you need a new water filter before you make any more trips. Sent from my GT-P7310 Excellent TR, can't wait for more. I would agree that you may need a new ceramic filter. You should not have much resistance while pumping with a clean filter and if your bottles are pressurizing which I have ...

Re: Ranger III Falls trips
does anyone know if you can send a boat or canoe over on the ranger and have it dropped off in RH then take the seaplane over and pick it up? Thinking about a nice short trip and don't have the time to take the boats over and want to take a canoe...TIA

Re: Water Taxi open seats Aug5
The first boat leaves after the ranger talk and load up, then they will take those 4 plus canoes to chippewa then probably have a pickup and head back to get us, so probably be around 3 or so. I think it's about $35-$40 per person, I think with the 2 of us and our canoe there may only be room for 2 ...

Water Taxi open seats Aug5
We have 6 people and 3 canoes leaving from Rock Harbor on Aug 5th to Chippewa Harbor. The limit on the water taxi is 4 people and 2 canoes so we have to take 2 water taxis, this means we have room on one boat for 2 people and a canoe or 4 more people with no canoe, if anyone wants to hop on let me ...
