Well, last year didn't work out. Since this is the 10 year anniversary of my first (and only so far) visit, I am very serious about getting out this time around! Probably looking to do an early season trip like I was planning last time.

I am in the early stages of planning my second trip, the first was about 9 years ago. In 2009, Isle Royale put me on a path to some serious life changes. I'm going back for another round of the good stuff.

Last time I went at the very end of the season. For 2018, I want to go when it opens!

The 10 second dip sounds like the eggs are being "pasteurized". If so I have seen them for sale as such in the store, might be another option!

I've been using 1 pole for most of my longer hikes, but I'm considering trying two on my next trip. In a pinch a pole could also be used as a self defense tool, hopefully that would never need to be the case!
