Re: MSR Microrocket
I switched to an alcohol stove setup a couple of years ago. There are things I miss about the iso-butane stoves - like the fast boil times. But I have become fanatical when it comes to weight in my pack. Most of the weight of the fuel canisters is the canisters themselves. With alcohol I can measure exactly how much fuel I need for a specific trip. No more half-full canisters sitting around in the basement.
This is my cookset (minus the alcohol):

Re: MSR Microrocket
It's a full ounce lighter than the Snow Peak GigaPower that I use, but I'm so in love with my GigaPower setup and reliability that I just cannot see myself making the switch. Maybe after several years pass and my Gigapower fails at some point, if reviews are encouraging for this particular stove, I will give it a try.
