Hi everyone. I've begun writing my trip report, which is being posted in day-by-day installments here:
http://www.blackcoffeeatsunrise.com/
Four posts are up so far: an introductory post and days 1 through 3. Hoping to post once a week until it's finished.

Thanks! The tubes have wide openings at the bottom and you just spoon it in. Really heavy at first, but we eat it on the first couple of days so it doesn't last long.Lucky Chicken wrote:nice report so far... I look forward to the rest of it!

Loved the trip report so far. You are right, it is hard to share Isle Royale with people who have never been there.
After my first trip, it felt like too personal of an experience to share with anyone, I eventually did, but not at first.
Oh and I LOVE the food tubes, I use them for everything!!

I've always liked reading your trip reports, this one is very good so far also.
The island has hooked me and I'll be back every year. Next year I'm planning on bringing the wife snd my twin 7 year olds for a small scale relaxed trip.
Keep up the great trip reports!

Thanks to both of you. I have posted through day 3 so far. It's fun to re-live the trip by writing about it!

Great trail report so far Nina. I remember when I hiked through the tall vegetation from Siskiwit to Feldtmann Lake, I was thinking how much it would suck if this part was wet. I also saw a sign in one of the shelters saying that one of the shelters was for hikers and one was for boaters. We were the second group to come in, but luckily no boaters came in and insisted on the second shelter.

For future reference, there is a spigot in the Washington Creek campground, you didn't have to walk all the way back to Windigo...
Loving the trip report!!

Where is "Day 8: What will the weather bring?" I imagine on some eventual day in the future, hopefully on Day 8....the weather brought good news? God forbid you're still on the island destined to be visitors forever due to poor weather
