I hope for trip #5 in 2014. Haven't done solo yet. Have only done one spring trip. Haven't done the western loop yet, so I'm thinking Grand Portage, then maybe a clockwise circuit. I would like to introduce a friend to IR, but at this point not sure.

Looking at 3rd week of May.

Too bad there's no shuttle, like in major cities or Denver-to-resorts, Duluth to G.P! Renting a vehicle, driving all that distance.... Makes me wanna fly to Houghton instead. And that makes me think of the expensive water-taxi from RH.... Whatever.... just wanna get there.

Not real appetizing-looking, but what about the large sucker fish spawning in the upland fast runs (like the ones around McCargoe) in springtime? Folks used to eat 'em? How 'bout now?
