Feels to me like this thread has run it's course. I think I'll let it rest for now--maybe we can pick it up later in the season with pics from this year's trips :). It has been fun!

We didn't camp there, but looked nice.

When it to turned to paddling destinations, all I was doing was throwing darts, so I've been quiet.

When I canoed the route from McCargoe to Daisy Farm, via the dreaded Greenstone Ridge portage, I had heard there wasn't an outhouse at Pickerel Cove so I bypassed it. I stopped there to check it out and it did have an outhouse and regret not camping there. When I canoe that route again I will definitely stay there!

No doubt when I'm on the Island this coming season, I'll be looking to take some new campground pics that will challenge you all. This is a fun thread, especially in the winter, when we're stuck inside.

I'm sure there are "lurkers". I think it's more like we've run out of campgrounds. I say to you hard core types, post a section of trail or other landmarks.

I am a lurker, so there is at least one lurker. I have been to exactly two campgrounds, I haven't set up a photo-sharing site I can link to, and I drop by only once or twice a week -- so my overt participation has been limited. Maybe IRNP-related landmarks, such as the buffet at the Grand Portage Casino, could also be fair game?

From another "Lurker". This is too easy for the veterans, but it's still one of my favorite campgrounds.

Yes, Chippewa Harbor it is!
First visit 1982. Last visit August, 2024. Isle Royale is my favorite National Park!
