Mid - late August conditions
How is the weather and bugs in mid-late August? Planning a trip around that time and wanted to know what we should expect !

It's fantastic. Bugs are probably at their minimum. Lakes are nearly at their warmest. Expect rain, as always. Nights will start to get colder (40's are possible).

warm days cool nights, a few lingering bugs (esp if it was a wet year). Its a good time to go.

The later you go in August, the better the temps. Cool nights. Can be stormy if paddling. If it has been wet, expect mosquitoes. Less people the later in the month you go.
