The lates Wolf's Eye (From IRKPA) talks about a new moose survey that puts the moose numbers on IR at 584. I think there is a discrepancey between that and the 2020 numbers which has the population closer to 2000.

Interesting. It sounds like the Park Service used a different sampling method. 584 is a long way from the about 1,900 mentioned in the 2020 Moose/Wolf report. I'm sure we'll hear more about this now the researchers are back on the island.

I think it had to do with when the survey was done (where there leaves on the trees? No snow making it harder to see moose.
