Those are all pretty breathtaking. I’m wondering if those Milky Way shots look like that to the naked eye, or is some of that photographic black magic?

Thanks for compliment and no there is no black magic, thats what it looks like when you are surrounded by darkness and no ambient light from cities. As we say back home in Alaska "sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you"

Very nice. I am planning on pursuing photography as a retirement activity (probably nature and travel photography mostly). Can you reveal a bit of your process? Hardware and software?

Short answer would be starting out with Mirrorless cameras system. Send me a PM with email so I can go into a little depth if you would like.
