I imagine everyone has thoughts on this and rely on different rules of thumb, so here goes!
i head to the island in a week for four days. My total food ( not including water) is 6.7 pounds. That includes the outer Ursak bag. I think i could cut my breakfast weight by a third or so— i have pancake mix, oil and syrup for each day—but last time, pancakes were one of the few foods i could stomach.
So how do i compare? Any secrets folks rely on?

Re: food weight
When my wife and I last went to IR for 7 days, our total food weight was just under 11 lbs, so 5.5 lbs per person (no water, no Ursak at that point either).
It looks like the Ursak+liner would add almost another pound to that, so I'd say we're pretty close.
Edit: Just realized that you said 4 days, not 1 week, for the trip. Mine came out to about 0.8 lbs/person/day, but since I was sharing many things with my wife that's probably a bit lower than a solo trip.

Re: food weight
For my upcoming September trip to Isle Royale, I'm taking 8.7 lbs food for 6 days. That is 1.45 lbs/day.

Re: food weight
On my recent 6-day trip, I carried 4.96 pounds of food, plus another 1.3 pounds for delay. And I ate most of it.

Re: food weight
Well, you folks inspired me. I am down to about 1.25 pounds of food per day. I strongly suspect i will not eat it all, but not sure what else i can cut.
