Excellent news about off campground camping. That would make N. Desor-Huginnin much easier. Nice!
IR-7 weeks away.

I stayed at Huginin Cove on my trip last year and it was by far my favorite campsite. I headed there from South Lake Desor though. I made a stop in to the store for some snacks and headed back out. Had the entire site to my lonesome, as I was traveling solo. Great views and a nice rocky shoreline.

There's nothing special/difficult about a backcountry permit. It is the same permit that is issued for any user that heads out on the trail and stays at established campsites. I did a stay last week at Sargent Lake. I just told them I was headed there, they referenced the map for areas that are closed for camping, verified it was open, and wrote it on the tag as Sargent-Back and away I went.
