Two weeks left until my first visit to IR!
My group will probably be using tent sites most of the time (unless it is raining and shelters are available). Anyone mind sharing their favorite tent sites (or shelters) at these camps?
Chippewa Harbor
McCargoe Cove
Lane Cove
Thanks!

Re: Favorite Tent Sites
Hi Josh,
There are no bad sites at Chippewa! There are 2 sets of 2 shelters separated by about 40 yards or so that overlook the harbor and the campsites are really nice and open with tables.
Can't remember much about McCargoe as I haven't stayed there in years.
Lane Cove campsites are relatively close together so just check them out and take your pick. They just put in a few new ones there that I haven't seen yet. When we were there last there was a cold wind off the Lake, so we took the campsite farthest to the West, which was out of the wind.

Re: Favorite Tent Sites
When I was at the Lane Cove campground two years ago I used the site furthest to the east. It was in the woods which broke the wind for me. It also was close enough to the water so that resupply wasn't difficult.
