Campsites Closest to Rock Harbor

Hello! My first forum post!

I haven't been to Isle Royale since I was about 10 ... at which point we stayed in the cabins at Rock Harbor. Not being the trip coordinator then, I had no idea what they cost - and now I'm a bit taken aback to find how expensive they are!

We're now considering splitting up part of our group - partially to save money, but also to take advantage of the great outdoors, of course! While a few will stay back at the cabin - about 4 to 6 of us will be camping.

Since Rock Harbor has a 1-night limit, we will most likely do that our first night so we can mull over our plans for the following days. I'm not really having any luck right now finding maps that show the distances between campsites / trails. I see Daisy Farm is about 7 miles (?) but are there sites closer than that so we can still hike around by day but not be so-so far from the rest of our crew staying back? I see Three Mile, but how far is that from RH?

And if anyone has any links to some better maps than the campsite descriptions I've run across, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!

Three Mile campground is 3 miles from Rock Harbor.

Where are the campsites/shelters at Rock Harbor? I don't recall seeing any there.

Interesting, I walked that way back and forth to the Tobin Harbor dock, but missed any shelters. I remember the cabins back there, are they intermingled?

No, just after you go by the showers, there is a trail immediately to your left. It's right on the Rock Harbor shore.
