This is me at Grace Creek overlook, taken by Jim DuFresne.

See a different one taken(see page 99), added to the 4th edition of: Isle Royale National Park, foot trails and water routes. :D

Malone Bay, October 1, 2004. A gale was crossing the lake and the island looked like it was on fire.

My first time out to Isle Royale! We had a great time. One of our canoes rolled over in the waters between Cork island and Belle isle (everyone is ok), saw a wolf, ate fresh fish for dinner, and had a wonderful time on that Island! http://www.flickr.com/photos/luciano734/

Well my IR geography sucks. Looking at where it falls in my album I'd say it may be from between where the trail from Lane Cove hits the Greenstone Ridge, and Mt. Franklin. The Mt. Franklin marker picture is a couple after it, and I know I was coming from Lane Cove headed for McCargoe Cove that day. Definitely on the Greenstone Ridge. Isn't there a spot along the trail with a sign for an overlook with the arrow pointing basically up? I remember dropping my pack and scrambling up there and being pretty glad I did, but there were so many views along that ridge that they kind of all run together into one big awesome blob of beautiful forest and lake in my not-so-great memory. If that picture is nine o'clock, here's twelve and three. Maybe somebody with more expertise can backwards engineer it?

Thought you would ID that as the area. I enjoyed Lane Cove, plus the hike down and back up. Great views in that area of the Greenstone, especially east of where your picture was taken all the way to Lookout Louise.
