I met Alan as fellow volunteer on one of the IRNHA work projects. He has also done the Earth Watch volunteer moose carcass hunting thing with Rolf and Candy. He is an all-around great guy and very passionate about Isle Royale. We were in the photography workshop that Bob Guiliani and his wife Linda put on last June on the island and Alan took some great photos, which I'm sure he will share. He and I had the privilege of seeing a wolf at McCargoe Cove a couple of years ago (no decent pictures of that except in our memories... but some images don't fade... that wolf will always be one for me.)
