Fire ring at Moskey?

Post by drobarge »

Is there a fire ring at Moskey basin?, 3 mile?, Tookers Is.?
If not where would the closest ring to Rock Hbr. be?
I'm arriving in a very small open boat on Friday Sept 3rd and the weather looks horrible so a fire would be nice that night.

Thanks

The Greenstone paper from the NPS has this info under "Campgrounds".

Looks like Caribou Island is the only campground in that area that has a fire ring.

forecast now is NE winds thursday night building 3-5' waves and switching to N wind 30-40 mph on friday, decreasing to 20-30 and NW. With a "small boat" as you say, forget the fire, grab a shelter on the main island and make some coffee! Caribou does have the grand community ring, but the shelters are also open to wind with northerly directions. No ring or fire grate on tookers, and between tookers and 3 mile, on that day I would stay on the lee and go to 3 mile.
