And a related question, what if my wife and I want to have a glass of wine in our tent or the shelter before bed? Does that make us nefarious ne'er do-wells?

A question about Siskiwit Bay & McCargo
When I see Siskiwit Bay and McCargo Cove campgrounds on the map, it says "no alcohol". It doesn't matter to me either way, but why does it say that for those specific campgrounds? I can only guess that that it's directed at the boaters? If that's the case, you'd think there would be several more campsites with that restriction.
And a related question, what if my wife and I want to have a glass of wine in our tent or the shelter before bed? Does that make us nefarious ne'er do-wells?

"It's only a spot on the map... until you go there!"

Re: A question about Siskiwit Bay & McCargo
I think that some time in the past there were some partying issues at those campgrounds. Haven't heard of any problems in recent years. It's directed at everyone, although it is obviously easier to float large quantities of alcohol than to carry it. Can't imagine anyone cares what you drink if it isn't obvious in your behavior. As for "nefarious ne'er do-wells", I can't speak to that

When we kayak, we bring the "inner bag" from a box wine and enjoy a glass (OK cup) of wine with dinner.

Re: A question about Siskiwit Bay & McCargo
The park service repealed the alcohol restrictions for those camping areas and docks last year, for whatever reason it got limited publicity, (superintendents compendium). It was confirmed to me last year when I questioned them about it, so worry not.
