Hey all,
I'm headed back to IR on 5 Aug thru 13 Aug. I was on the island last year for a few days and really enjoyed it and I met many good people. I'm a solo hiker, but am always happy to connect with other solo's who might be interested in walking some miles together. I did a 100 mile section of the AT in May. Started solo and finished with new trail friends. I'm 62 y/o single guy with 20 year of recent backpacking experience. A good day for me is 10 to 12 miles, a few more or less is ok. I am thinking about some loops in the east and mid portions of IR. Taking the Ranger III outbound on Friday the 5th. Say hello if you're interested.

Hi,
We'll be on the isle the same time. See Flatlanders on the schedule. We're coming over to Rock Harbor on the Voyageur II on the 6th and heading to Windigo.
Hope to see you on the trail.

Re: Solo Hiker
I'll be hiking solo for my first time, but from the Windigo side, Aug. 4 - 11. I'll be doing the Feldtman Lake trail back to Windigo the first leg, then the Minong back to Windigo on the Greenstone via Hatchet Lake. I'm expecting to learn a lot of lessons on my first solo trek, just hoping the rain holds off. I'll be glad to keep my poncho tucked neatly inside my pack.
