Re: swimming
I'm unaware of any, nor would I advise it in such a remote place. YMMV though. Best of luck in the search.

Re: swimming
Depends on what you mean by a cliff. If you have a kayak or canoe, there are some 15' tall (?) rock ledges in the narrows section of Chippewa Harbor. I was too chicken, but my paddle buddy spent about an hour diving off these. He did backflips too.grandrapidsjack wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:47 amis there any place on Isle Royale that folks go cliff jumping?

that's about high enough for me.
we have spent time at Iona's beach and black rocks beach, I was wondering if there is something comparable.

Re: swimming
Maybe not as high as black rocks, but still a good drop. Have fun.grandrapidsjack wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 11:38 am.....that's about high enough for me.

Re: swimming
If you had a boat, there’s a couple spots in the area of Caribou Island that are otherworld-ly. But not accessible from the main island.

Re: swimming
There's a good spot with 10-12 ft rocks and deep water on Lake Richie. It is located right before the trail turns away from the lake toward West Chickenbone. It is also a great spot for catching a Northern Pike!grandrapidsjack wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:47 am is there any place on Isle Royale that folks go cliff jumping?

Too bad about the algae bloom, no fishing or swimming this year....
